15 Watt 2 GHz to 20 GHz SSPA for Test & Measurement
Giga-tronics needed a way to offer their customers a linear, high-power amplifier across mulltioctave bandwidths to enable testing in EMC, wireless communications applications, and Defense EW systems. The amplifier had to fit into a standard rack-mount unit for test set integration. Their requirement was to eliminate complex programming caused by manual switching of amplifiers during test, and do away with plugging and unplugging amplifiers in manual test stations.
CAP Wireless provided a modified version of its model RM022020 for integration into Giga-tronics' standard 19" chassis. Their model GT-1000A has been used in the field since 2008 in test environments that demand excellent pulse fidelity, low intermodulation distortion, and superior gain flatness without the warm up time, drift or aging issues of TWTAs. Test applications include electromagnetic interference/compatibility (EMI/EMC) test, semiconductor evaluation, load pull, antenna range and microwave laboratory applications. Excellence pulse performance and modulated signal fidelity makes these amplifiers ideal for defense EW and radar testing.
