James Cole is co-founder and Managing Director of Windward Ventures. His investment focus is in semiconductors, storage and communications. Mr. Cole has been personally involved in the formation of many successful companies including EESof, Amplica, Spectrian and Vitesse Semiconductor. Mr. Cole currently serves as a director of one public company (Gigatronics) and several private companies, including KOR Electronics, Syntricity, and Akatoo. Mr. Cole is also a Trustee at Mount St Mary's College. Prior to founding Windward Ventures, Mr. Cole was a founding general partner of Spectra Enterprise Associates, a Southern California based venture fund and he was a partner of New Enterprise Associates, one of the country's leading venture capital organizations. He was previously a co-founder and Executive Vice President of Amplica, a successful manufacturer of microwave gallium arsenide integrated circuits.
